Goodyear adds sculpture to new ballpark

A 60-foot, 6-inch-high sculpture designed to be the focal point of the Cleveland Indians' new spring-training facility in Goodyear, Az. was installed Friday.

The sculpture from Donald Lipski will be the first thing to greet fans as they enter the ballpark.

Lee County, Baltimore continue talks about move to City of Palms Park

The Baltimore Orioles and Lee County continue discussions about a move by the Birds to City of Palms Park for Spring Training 2012, with Lee County officials continuing to be optimistic about adding a third team to Fort Myers.

They estimate the chances at 80 percent the team will move to City of Palms Park after the Boston Red Sox depart for a new suburban training facility. Not bad; but let's not forget Vero Beach and Sarasota officials were similarly optimistic about landing the team in previous discussions.

Spring Training Online on the radio!

If you're in the Twin Cities area or have access to streaming media on your computer, take note: Spring Training Online's Kevin Reichard will be live in studio on KFAN-AM (1130) Sunday, Jan. 18, 10:15-10:45 a.m. Central, with Henry Lake. He'll be taking calls in the 10:30-10:45 segment. If you're outside the Twin Cities area, you can listen in here: http://www.kfan.com/main.html.

There will be lots of other places to check out Spring Training Online in person. We'll have some more details next week, but the folks in Phoenix, Las Vegas, Orlando, Tampa and Fort Myers should note Kevin Reichard will be on book-signing tours in February and meeting with friends of the site.
